Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur (IIIT Bhagalpur) is one of the IIITs set up by MHRD, Govt of India in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. It started functioning from the academic year 2017.

It gives me immense pride to lead the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhagalpur, an institute of national importance committed to academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and innovation/entrepreneurial activities in the domain of Information Technology and its allied areas. The institute is located on the southern bank of the holy Ganga river in Bhagalpur.The construction of Phase-I of the IIIT campus is completed in 2024 and institute is now fully functional from its permanent campus in Sabour Bhagalpur.
Academic Programme
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)
The institute currently offers four B.Tech. programs:
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Mechatronics and Automation Engineering (MAE)
- Mathematics and Computing (MnC)
These programs are designed to provide strong academic foundations and industry-relevant skills in their respective domains.

Joining the national anti-drug campaign directed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and marking the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan's 5th anniversary, our Institute will organize a mass pledge-taking ceremony against drug abuse. The entire campus community will unite to affirm their commitment to a drug-free life, strengthening the collective resolve in this vital war on drugs.
Prabhat Pheri
Commemorating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our Institute will kick off its 'Har Ghar Tiranga' celebrations with a vibrant 'Prabhat Pheri' (morning procession). The entire campus community will then proudly hoist the National Flag across hostels, academic blocks, and homes, fostering unity and patriotic fervor.
