Bhagalpur is known as the Silk City, so the letters “IIIT” in the logo are designed to imitate the weaving pattern of the famous Bhagalpuri Saree.

The geometric structure of the logo takes inspiration from the main stupa at the center of Vikramshila Mahavidyalaya, situated 38 km from Bhagalpur.

Technically, the profile and overall shape of the entire logo resembles the NOT gate of a digital circuit, symbolizing the institute’s inclination towards Information Technology.

The red dot symbolizes the rising sun, signifying hope, energy, and growth. The color palette is derived from the IIT Guwahati logo, as IITG is the mentor institute for IIIT Bhagalpur.

The entire logo as a whole signifies the rise and progress of the institute.
